Vital Scope
The new era of Stethoscope
Vital scope is a new concept of a stethoscope. The new design aims to allow faster diagnosis and easier access to patient results from the stethoscope check.
Background
Throughout the years, the design of the stethoscope has only undergone a few minimum changes. While ultrasounds have become hand-held, and surgical tools can now make microscopic incisions with laser controls by robots, the device to measure vital signs, especially a stethoscope has only shown slow progress.
We originally planned to re-design the form of a stethoscope to create a more ergonomic/ user-friendly design, instead, we came to create a new concept of a stethoscope design and system altogether.
In this project we will show the design process of creating Vital Scope; literature research, market research, primary research (one one-on-one interview method), and qualitative data analysis.
